There will be a discount of £30 for any delegate who registers for and attends both the ABCD Conference and the DTN-UK Meeting - this will be administered in the form of a refund after the events.

Registration for this meeting is open until 11.59pm on Tuesday 27th August 2024.

We welcome abstracts on any subject relating to Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine, which might be of interest to members of the Association. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to display their work in the form of a poster at the meeting on 5th September. Those meeting the criteria for publication will be published on the ABCD and BJD websites.

Two prizes will be awarded:

• Best poster by junior doctor
• Best poster

The prize for each award is a £500 travel award to present the abstract at an International conference. The authors of the winning posters will also be asked to present their work at a future ABCD webinar.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday 13th June 2024 at 11.59am (midday).

If you have submitted an abstract, you will be notified as to whether or not your abstract has been selected for presentation by Thursday 4th July 2024.

ABCD hospitality & registration desk

The ABCD registration and hospitality desk will be located outside the Bristol Suite from 08.00 - 19.30 hours on 4th September and from 08.00 - 17.00 hours on 5th September.

Upon registration, you will receive your conference badge. We request that you please wear your badge throughout the meeting. The conference organising team will be based at this desk throughout the conference should you have any queries.

Accommodation

You will need to make your own accommodation booking should you require it. There is a large variety of accommodation in Bristol offering a range of prices and styles.  

Accreditation

Accreditation for this meeting has been sought by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 6 category 1 (external) CPD credits for full attendance.  Certificates of attendance will be available to download from your dashboard after the event. 

Cancellation & refunds

In the event of cancellation, delegate fees are only refundable until 7th August 2024. After this date no refunds will be issued. All refunds are subject to a £10 administration fee.

Catering

Your delegate fee includes tea and coffee at designated breaks and a buffet lunch. We will endeavor to cater for any dietary requirements that have been specified to us beforehand.

Conference Dinner

Please note, the conference dinner is not included in the meeting registration fee.  There are limited places available for the dinner, please book this when registering for the event.

Registration 

Please register for the Conference in advance online and pay by debit or credit card via PayPal. We will not accept registrations on site unless we have space and this cannot be guaranteed.

Safety & security

Please do not leave bags or equipment unattended and please wear your badge at all times. ABCD cannot be held responsible for personal belongings or effects.

Whilst it is not compulsory to wear a mask during the event, you may wish to do so while moving about the building in particular. There will be hand sanitiser stations available for your use on site as well as hand washing facilities. We do politely request that you do not attend if you are displaying any covid symptoms or have had a recent positive test result.

Map and directions

Bristol's Clean Air Zone started on 28th November 2022, you'll need to pay a charge if your vehicle doesn't meet the zone's emission standards unless you have an exemption. You can use the government's checking tool to check if you will be charged to drive your vehicle in Bristol's Clean Air Zone.

Car parking options

1. Delegate places at the conference are limited and offered on a first-come, first served basis. Places cannot be guaranteed until payment has been received.
2. Cancellation charges may apply (100% cancellation fee if cancelled within four weeks of the event)
3. Refunds may be available up to 28 days prior to the event taking place - please check the details for each event.  All refunds are subject to a £10.00 administration fee
4. ABCD / ABCD Diabetes Technology Network reserves the right to alter the programme without prior notice
5. In the event that a conference is cancelled or cannot take place for any reason outside the control of ABCD, the registration fees will be refunded in full. The total liability of  ABCD shall be limited to that refund only and it shall not be liable for any other loss, cost or expense, howsoever arising.
6. Delegates are advised to take out appropriate travel insurance cover.
7. All delegates attending events must comply with relevant current government guidance at the time of the event. Delegates are asked to take all possible precautions against spreading infection through the wearing of masks and frequent hand washing. Delegates are asked to advise the event team if they test positive for COVID-19.
